The first thing that comes to mind when I think of teens is social media. Social Media has been a huge trend of teens this generation. Students display their activities and chat when they are in the mood to share a laugh or talk about some drama sparked by celebrities. Celebrities are by far the main reason why I think teens use social media. They idolize the stars and hope to have enough followers to be well known around the world. "When I think about someone "looking into the mind of a teen" I think appearance represents best. Most teenagers just want to "fit in". During your teen years there are a lot of trends, fashion trends, technology trends, etc. that most want to keep up with. How you present yourself will follow you a long way. Truth is kids are mean and nobody wants to be bullied so you have to come off a certain way even if it means not fully being yourself".

"I have to say social media because most teens nowadays are on social media. They normally go on there to see what's going on between some people or to look at other pictures. Some might go on there to see some news on Facebook and others go on there for the drama that happens between some people online. Social media is one of the things that teens are distracted by. They want as many followers as possible, doing anything necessary to achieve that "verified status". Teens will tweet, post, and/or snap about their day just to get more people to view them."

"I think that looking into the mind of a teen means looking into a thousand little parts. There are so many components to the mind of a teenager: social media, family, school and friends are just small parts. When you take all the parts, those split into little parts, and then those split into smaller parts. When I think about the part of friends, it is really too important to the regular teenager, including myself. All teens see this differently, though. Some teens think that having thousands of friends is the most important thing. While there are others who only deeply care about two or three friends. "
